6 of 6 people found the following review helpful.
Don’t loose your Gripz!
By Absolutely
I love these little handy Gripz snack packs. The Keebler Variety Box comes with three types: Cheez It’s, Nacho Cheese & Chips Deluxe. Each pouch contains mini versions of your favorite snacks and I do mean mini. Each pouch contains easily 5-6 large handfuls of snack. Or if you are like me, 10-12 small handfuls of snack. These are great for portion control – keeps you from eating a whole box of the scale versions. You can spread them out and make them last. They are handy for those on the go or for ones lunch. I grab one when I head out for the day. They are perfect for car trips b/c of the size. Imagine a bag of sunflower seeds – these are a little shorter but about the same width. This makes them easy to hold onto while snacking. The cheez-it’s look like super tiny oyster crackers. They are not triangular like their larger predecessor. Oddly enough – the Nacho Cheez is in the shape of a Cheez It and has a spicy nacho cheese it flavor. My favorite out of the three is the Chips Deluxe. Those lil cookie bites are freakin awesome. Imagine the size of a chocholate chip. That’s about how big each mini cookie is and they taste just like the scale version. If you purchase these in a grocery chain like Kroger, you’ll expect to pay about $6.50 a box. Amazon has a pretty good price on these – especially if you opt in to the subscribe and save program. At that price with the free shipping alone, it’s worth it. Whether you are a busy mom looking for easy lunch solutions for your kids. A hungry dad who likes to snack between meals. A road traveler who is looking for something handy to snack and drive with at the same time. Or a Granny looking to satisfy a sweet tooth, I recommend giving these a try. I think you just might like them. Whatever you do, don’t lose your GRIPZ!

Those taste like mini cookies! The nacho cheese flavor tastes more like a “pizza” flavor than a straight nacho flavor. Packs are a good size for snacking.

Thornell
I buy the Grips for my kid’s school snacks. They love the variety pack. I figured out each bag costs about .34 each with “subscribe and save”, which is an ok deal.

A snack with the tomato and olive oil is a legal way to munch in the evening while relaxing in front of the tv. The flavor is great. I ordered it online because it’s difficult to find the tomato Triscuits stocked in stores. The bulk price from Amazon.com is comparable to sale prices and better than regular prices in store. By combining it with the tomato Wheat Thins (for my husband), I was able to get free shipping. When the snack turns into my dinner, I use the Triscuits to dip in hummus (for protein). Diet Coke is my treat. Great, healthy way to lose weight! Thanks, Triscuit, for making such a variety of flavors. Thanks, Amazon, for offering great prices, free shipping, fast turn around time, and bubbled packaging so that my crackers weren’t broken!

About the BrandKashi Company was founded in 1984 on the faith that every one has the power to make healthful changes. The San Diego-based company’s mission is to provide great tasting, all natural, and modern foods that enable humans to achieve optimal health, wellness, and weight management goals. All Kashi merchandise are natural, minimally processed, and free of highly refined sugars, artificial additives, and preservatives.

    The Name “Kashi”
In 1984, when Kashi Company founders Philip and Gayle Tauber devised their distinctive Seven Whole Grains and Sesame blend, they considered assorted names for the product: Gold’n Grains, Kushi, Graino… Finally, they decisive on Kashi–a synthesis of “kashruth” or kosher and “Kushi” the last name of the founders of Macrobiotics (a whole foods way of eating/living).

Later, they ran into that the word “Kashi” has a heap of significations around the world. In Russian, the name means porridge. In Hebrew, the word kashruth signifies simple or pure food. In Japanese, Kashi implies energy food. And in Chinese, it means happy food. To the company, Kashi means purity and healthful nutrition, and that’s what you’ll find in their distinctive blend of Seven Whole Grains and Sesame. Kashi merchandise are foods for a balanced life.

Neither a treat nor a treatment, Kashi Granola bars are light and just right–a way to get started without either residual guilt over a 7 A.M. candy bar or aversion to grandma’s recommended fiber remedy. One warning: they go down easy, so don’t take more than a single one with you in the car (or you could wind up scarfing down all six bars between traffic lights). Also, Amazon ships these three-buck packages in a generous-sized box, which may strike some consumers as ecologically irresponsible (wish I’d saved these boxes for a recent move of my mother-in-law. I think I ended up paying more for comparable new ones than the cost of the granola bars).

They are satisfying as a snack or breakfast, when you are on the run. They also come in handy as part of a daily lunch. They are chewy and full of peanuts and very filling. Great way to start a day!!

Spaghetti sauce made from scratch is much nicer than anything you may get in a may or jar. Canned tomatoes feature in some authentic Italian recipes because they have such a strong and robust flavor. Combined with fresh tomatoes, as well as onions, garlic, herbs, beef, mushrooms and more, these result in a genuinely great-flavored dish.

The best sauces need to simmer for a few hours, so the flavors may combine and blend in the right manner so you will need to begin cooking it long before you commence cooking the pasta. Once you have tasted the following recipe, you will never want to use anything out of a may or jar again.

Step-By-Step Recipe

Peel two heads of garlic and chop and in the long run press each clove of garlic. Add these to a huge pot, as well as a couple of chopped onions, a couple of chopped green bell peppers and a chopped bunch of celery. Throw in a pinch each of cayenne pepper, ground sage, oregano, basil, turmeric, garlic powder, white pepper, rosemary, thyme, red pepper flakes, and celery seed.

Add two tablespoons of olive oil and simmer the mixture over a moderate heat until everything is fragrant and tender. Drain the excess liquid away. Add a big may of whole tomatoes, two big cans of diced tomatoes, a may of tomato paste, five chopped fresh tomatoes, a big may of crushed tomatoes and two big cans of tomato sauce. Brown four pounds of lean ground beef and drain off the fat. Add this to the mixture in the pot.

Turn the heat up and simmer the mixture for an hour. Turn the heat down to low and simmer it for two or three more hours. Add numerous sliced mushrooms half an hour before the end of the cooking time and serve it hot.

How To Serve It

The established way to serve this recipe is, of course, with spaghetti, but it is likewise good with penne, linguine, macaroni, or any other kind of pasta you like. You may either combine it with the pasta or serve it on top of a pile of hot spaghetti.

If you are not fond of pasta, why not serve it over a baked potato or mashed potatoes instead? Polenta, bulgur wheat, couscous, and rice are other options.

How To Store It

Make a great deal because it keeps for a few days in the refrigerator. You may likewise freeze leftover sauce for a few months. The best way to do this is to use Ziploc bags and put two ladlefuls of sauce into each bag. This is one serving so thaw one bag of sauce for each person you want to feed.

The thawed sauce will taste as good as it did when it was freshly made and galore people say it tastes nicer when you heat it back up after freezing it because the flavors will have intensified. Just warm it back up in a pan before serving it but do not let it boil.

It’s smaller than regular pasta and was a ‘little’ bothersome trying to pick up with the fork at first.

Concurring with my good friend and brother, Rev. Phil Valentine (metaphysician out of New York), the female menstrual cycle is normal, but NOT natural. As the humane body has the innate capablenesses to adjust to pathologies, irregularities, and abnormalities, the female body (ever since the Great fall closely 6,000 years ago and which has utterly not one thing to do with a fabricated Biblical reputation named Eve) has adapted to the pathology of menstruation and now uses this procedure as a cleansing method to rid the female body of toxins and waste. The female body has taken that which is unnatural (to bleed and lose the critical life essence) and converted that routine into a normal female body function. Because of the menstrual cycle, women now have an further and added eliminative channel in the vagina, bringing their total to six major eliminative channels (colon, lungs, kidneys, liver, skin, and vagina). It is because of this sixth eliminative channel that rids the female body of unnecessary waste and toxins that women in general outlive men by seven years.

Why is menstruation considered a dis-ease? Because it is not natural in nature or the wild (free). It is rare to find a mammal that lives and eats according to the laws of Nature to have a menstrual cycle. Have you ever witnessed a female horse, gorilla, elephant, buffalo, monkey, hippopotamus, giraffe, zebra, rhinoceros, or cow having a menstrual discharge? Don’t you think corporate and greedy man would have devised effeminate pads and tampons for these animals to prevent the spilling and dropping of excessively big amounts of blood? Why of course corporate man would have, just like he did for Western and civilized woman so that she could continuously battle in the war zone called corporate America that was in the first place designed for white males. Man formulated pads and tampons for career females so that the menstrual cycle would not interfere with each and everyday business activity. You see, with men, there is no so-called “natural” phenomenon that over takes the male body once a month causing a break in chores and activities. Originally, for the duration of the cycle time, women abstained from work and other each and everyday functions. This break time due to menstruation was anyplace from 1-3 days at the most.

Menstruation is not unnatural in domesticated creatures in so-called civilization (which actually means “slavery”). Just look at the house cat and dog. These creatures have a menstrual cycle, just like the social creature called woman.

For a humane being, in particular a mammal, to lose it is critical life essence (blood) monthly, is not a natural occurrence. Blood exiting out of the body is not a natural thing. If a man goes to urinate and sees blood in his urine, he basi screams in fear and then goes to the emergency room at the local hospital to see the doctor. Why? Because it’s a sign that something is defective (if a man does urinate blood, prospects are he has prostate cancer).

The life of the flesh is in the blood. Even the Bible tells us this (Leviticus 17:11). The blood holds critical parts (minerals) necessary to maintain optimal health. The blood transports the respective solid homogeneous inorgani substances to sure constituents of the body so that sure organs may work and function optimally for the sake of the being. For example, calcium calms the nerves. Potassium ensures optimal nerve transmission. Iodine regulates and ensures optimal thyroid gland functioning and activity. Iron ensures hemoglobin and is now the major carrier of oxygen (taking over this responsibility from the solid homogeneous inorgani substance “gold” which we no longer use in our innovative and degenerative states of existence as third dimensional beings). Now if the blood which carries these solid homogeneous inorgani substances allround the body is being annihilated out of the body for the sake of ridding the female body of toxins and waste (which the colon and kidneys could without apparent effort perform), then the organs that need and depend on these critical constituents are not going to get them and the result is going to be dis-ease or lack of good or optimal health (e.g. PMS [premenstrual syndrome]).

Take PMS for example; PMS is affiliated with mood swings, irritability of nerves, gas (flatulence), abdominal cramps, headaches, body spasms, short term memory loss, etc. Why? Because of a lack of nutrients or organ-specific foods to these areas for proper functioning. With blood completely filled in the vaginal area for the duration of the menses and exiting thru the vagina, the brain is not going to get the solid homogeneous inorgani substances carbon, copper, calcium and potassium (at least the amount it requires). Calcium is a calmative (calming agent). It calms you down. Do you know why the animals who graze on grasses like oats, alfalfa, barley, wheat, and gotu kola are so calm? Because they integrate high amounts of calcium. Animals know that God made the grass to grow for their gain and good health. The Book of Psalms distinctly tells us that, “He causeth the grass to grow for cattle,…” Do you recognise why elephants are said to have good memories? Because they graze on gotu kola, an herb that enhances mental acuity and stamina. Therefore, female elephants do not experience sequences of short term memory loss (nor do they formulate Alzheimer’s Disease as the herb gotu kola holds bio-aluminum [organic aluminum] which attracts harmful, man-made aluminum which causes Alzhiemer’s in the original place, and rids it from the body by way of the blood).

With blood leaving the body for the duration of the menses, the nerves are not going to get it is necessitated amount of potassium for proper nerve transmission. The thyroid gland (a major element in weight gain and loss) is not going to get the necessary amount of iodine it needs to regulate body weight. And with a major loss of iron, a trace element, anemia is going to undoubtedly take place and cause a host of ill-effects such as dizziness, weakness, nausea, fatigue, frigidity (or sentiment excessively cold), and brittle fingernails.

During the menstrual cycle, the female body is going to saturate the blood supply in the vaginal area to aid with the menstrual cycle, and as a result, necessary solid homogeneous inorgani substances will not be transported in the amount necessitated by the other body organs and members. These solid homogeneous inorgani substances that are lodged in the vaginal area for the duration of the menstruation will come out in bulk in the “white” stage (leukorrheac discharge). Yes, that white discharge commonly referred to as “leucorrhea,” is full of nutrition (that nutrition which did not make the grade doing the menstrual cycle). The white discharge is considered healthful or normal due to it is high solid homogeneous inorgani substance content and non-smelly or foul odor, whereas and in contrast to an irritating, pruritic, copious, foul-smelling green or yellow discharge, which gives evidence of vaginal or uterine infection or other pathogenic conditions of gynecologic origin. (See Mosby’s Medical, Nursing, and Allied Health Dictionary, 3rd edition, “leucorrhea.”)

So PMS is due to solid homogeneous inorgani substance deficiency, and not a curse by God on females. Medical logic suggest that PMS may be cured or corrected by counteracting solid homogeneous inorgani substance deficiency by giving the body more solid homogeneous inorgani substances before, during, and after the menstrual cycle. The best source of these solid homogeneous inorgani substances is raw, organic foods (fruits and vegetables) and herbs. And remember, your body has nerves that connect to each organ in your body. The gas pockets in the colon explode and press versus other nerves internet sites in the colon (which incorporate 360 nerve crystals) and cause a host of other problems, in particular headaches.

It is reported that the African women kidnapped and brought to America for the duration of the American slavery amount of time (1555-1863) did not have a menstrual cycle, but a period. Yes, they only had a little drop of blood the size of a little dot, which is why it was called a “period,” that mark we make and employ in the English language, but which is now related with the menstrual “cycle.” The term “cycle” is now a synonym for the word “period.”

We find support of the impairment of normal physiological function nature of the menstrual cycle in the Bible in the story of Jesus healing the woman who had an issue of blood for twelve years. This account is elaborate in the Book of Mark. Many Christian reverends, who do not apply or grasp metaphysics, construe this issue of blood as a cut on the woman’s body that Jesus healed, but if these ignorant Christian reverends understood medical logic, science, and fact, they would know that no humane being may bleed for more than a amount of time of 12 hours without dying! If a person bleeds for 12 hours straight, we all know what happens, except for our blind Christian pastors, in particular the Negro ones. We read in Mark, Chapter 5, Verses 25-34, the following: “And a sure woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years, And had suffered galore things of galore physicians, and had expended all that she had, and was not one thing bettered, but rather grew worse. When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment. For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole. And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up: and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague. And Jesus, without delay knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him with regards to in the press, and said, ‘Who touched my clothes?” And his disciples said unto him, Thou seest the multitudes thronging thee, and sayest thou, who touched me? And he looked round in regards to to see her that had done this thing. But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what she done in her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth. And he said unto her, ‘Daughter, they faith had made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.”

Now why do you think this woman’s issue of blood that lasted for twelve years was called a “plague?” Well, what is a “plague?” The word “plague” is specified as: 1. A widespread affliction or calamity. 2. A cause of annoyance; nuisance. 3. A highly infectious, usu. fatal epidemic disease, esp. bubonic plague. (The American Heritage Dictionary, 3rd edition, Office Edition, pg. 633).

Do not most American females feel afflicted, annoyed, or nuisanced for the duration of their menstrual cycle? The answer is yes! Why do you think they take pharmaceutical drugs like Midol® for the duration of their cycle? For fun? Hell no! They are in pain or feel afflicted. Many or most of them (females) are not the same for the duration of this time, and they will tell you so, like they have told me so. They become very grouchy and irritated. Many will tell you that they are a “bitch” for the duration of this time and to leave them alone and/or don’t say a word to them, lest they slap you or punch you in the face. Why do they become like this? It is because of the calamity or the plague, as the Bible calls it.

In analyzing the Mark 5:25-34 story or parable of the woman with an issue of blood for twelve years, we ought to utilise spiritual or metaphysical hermaneutics and exigesis. Number one, the issue of blood lasting twelve years could be no other than the menstrual cycle. It could not be a form of blood cancer (leukemia) as cancer kills ordinarily within six months to three years. It could not have been a bleeding sore on the body because not anyone may bleed daily and nonstop for twelve years. The touching of Jesus’ garments is a metaphor or spiritual symbolical meaning or action referring to Jesus’ lifestyle. A garment is what protects or covers you. Likewise, a righteous and wholistic modus vivendi covers and protects you (from sickness, disease, slavery, and untimely death). The woman touching Jesus’ garment meant that the woman touched (practiced) Jesus’ way of living. The “fountain of her blood” referred to her vagina. And clearly, her “faith” (in being cured by a righteous and Essenic lifestyle) made her whole (at ease and not dis-eased). It is indispensable to note that the parable begins by saying that she suffered (took) a good deal of things of physicians (drugs) and had expended all that she had. If her issue was in fact a wound on the skin as most Negro Christian reverends suggests, a physician would have had psychological result of perception learning and reasoning to bandage up the wound in order to put pressure on the wound so as to stop the profuse bleeding.

Moving on in our subject matter, if menstruation is necessary and natural, and serves to expel or eliminate toxins from the female body on a regularly every month basis, why then does the menstrual cycle stop or go away for the duration of pregnancy? Does a toxic woman mechanically become clean or nontoxic because of pregnancy? Of course not! So why does the menses halt? The answer lies in the fact of the body’s intelligence knowing that a new life is forming in the flesh and that the body will need extra nutrition for the building blocks of the new life. The body knows it loses these building blocks (minerals) for the duration of menstruation, so the body’s intelligence prevents the body from menstruating once conception takes place. So what when it comes to the routine of eliminating toxins? How does the female body throw off toxins for the duration of pregnancy? The female body will utilize the initial trimester (or primary three months) to eliminate toxins from the mother host body thru “morning sickness.” I don’t have a clue as to why this action is called “morning sickness” because women will suffer through this impairment of normal physiological function allround the day – morning, noon, and night; – something to make you think about! Women will throw up (vomit, regurgitate) to aid get the body clean for the baby to create in. Some females are so toxic, that the body will dump most of the toxins from the uterine area in to the liver, which causes or manifests “eclampsia,” which is liver toxicity for the duration of pregnancy. Taking synthetic and destructive pharmaceutical drugs euphemistically called “prenatal tabs” (made with horse manure, bitumen, and coal tar) and inorganic origins of “iron” (which is derived from rusted metals such as railroad tracks) will principally play a role in eclampsia. This synthetic and deadly “iron” [ferrous fumate and sulfate] is the cause of constipation and bloated sentiment in pregnant women. Pharmaceutical companies mix this inorganic iron (humans require “organic” or “living” iron from plant sources) with inorganic sulphur. The injurious effects of inorganic solid homogeneous inorgani substance sulphur however, is caused by it is affinity for iron and also it is destruction of ferments and enzymes, and by it is generation of sulphurous and sulphuric acids within the organism. It steals the iron from feed and blood, forming sulphide of iron which constipates and dries up the assorted secretions of the digestive tract. It likewise steals nascent hydrogen from the fluids and tissues forming sulphuranhydride or sulphureted hydrogen. Women, this is the cause of the foul smelling gas you expel and have been revolted at, which is always given off by decaying organic matter, animal and vegetable. It is the smell of rotten eggs, putrid sores, fecal matter, and decaying flesh.

Should menstruating women engage in sexual intercourse? For health and hygiene reasons, I say no, peculiarly if a woman is lying on her back. My reasoning is this – like the rectum, the female vagina has a “downward” spiral energy. Most eliminative channels have a downward, spiral energy (e.g. colon, kidneys). While in the sex act, the male penis strokes in and out while inside the vagina. As menstruation is a cleansing time, expelling toxins and waste from the female body, waste and toxins journeying down the vagina to the exit or opening of the vagina will ultimately be pushed back up into the uterine area by the stroking male penis, and in particular if a man is stroking or penetrating hard, fast, and deep with his sex organ. This is something to think about. Plain and simple, it is unhygienic and unhealthful and poses a severe health risk.

In closing, what may a female do to offset the side effects of the “plague” (menses)? The answer is found in the Bible in Psalms 104:14. It without doubt or question states, “He causeth the grass to grow for the cattle, and herb for the service of man: that he may fetch forth feed out of the earth.” Plain and simple!

To replenish the body of the necessary nutrients (minerals), consume herbs such as alfalfa, sheep sorrel, suma, rooisbos, rose hips, watercress, parsley leaf, moringa or karela seed, barley grass, wheat grass, nettle leaf, and spinach leaf. These herbs provide almost each solid homogeneous inorgani substance the body needs.

Also, consume sea weeds such as kelp, dulse, spirulina, chlorella, Irish Moss, bladderwrack, Blue-Green Algae, Iceland Moss, and red marine algae. Sea weeds are the best and most nourishment providing foods you may eat, and provide your body with everything you need (oxygen, minerals, protein, etc.) and are an splendid source of organic “iodine” (thyroid gland food).

Natural roots rich in “iron” include: yellow dock root, burdock root, dandelion root, elderberries, red raspberry leaf, rooibos, and mullein leaf. Green vegetables such as parsley, greens, chives, and spinach are likewise outstanding roots of iron. Blackstrap molasses (unsulphured) also provides a good amount of iron.

Natural roots of “calcium” include: comfrey root (don’t believe the hype in regards to liver toxicity), oatstraw, horsetail, and red raspberry leaf. All green leafy vegetables are good roots of calcium (if you juice or lightly steam them).

Herbs to coagulate the blood and stop exuberant bleeding include: goldenseal, cranesbill (alum root), dragon’s blood, manjistha, musta, shepherd’s purse, lady’s mantle, yarrow, cayenne, Solomon’s seal, barberry, and heal-all herb.

Herbs that give energy for fatigue for the duration of the menstrual cycle include: ginseng (all species), ashwagandha, schizandra berries, jiwanti, yerba mate, green tea, suma, codonopsis bark, kola or bissey nut, and guarana seed.

Herbs for mental stimulation for the duration of the menstrual cycle include: gotu kola, gingko biloba, bringraj, ashwagandha, ginseng, holy or blessed thistle, kola or bissey nut, yerba mate, and guarana seed.

I used this to make a pasta salad and it turned out wonderful! I worried about whether or not the pasta would get mushy after making the salad and letting it sit in the fridge overnight, but it turned out amazing! You would have never been able to tell it was GF! It was a total hit at the party! Even the next day, the little bit left over tasted great! Can’t wait to try other products from these guys!

It is fantastic! Unlike other gluten free pastas I have tasted, the Tinkyada cooks up soft and smooth, just like the pasta I remember before the gluten started to bother me. Even my husband likes it! Other gluten free pastas tend to get hard the next day when you use them in pasta salads etc…..Tinkyada does not! Try it, you will love it too!!!

PASTA SECRET #1: ATTITUDE

Attitude is the most essential aspect. We ought to give the biggest attention and focus to our cooking and not get distracted by other things.

PASTA SECRET #2: THE WATER, THE POT AND THE SALT

To cook pasta we need only four things: good attitude, good water, good salt and good pasta.

Always use a huge and deep pot. No shoal or little pan for boiling pasta. The best ones are those terrifi stainless steel beauties, with a very thick bottom. Puts lots of water to boil. Even if you are going to cook just for yourself a quick “spaghettata”, always use at least 1 quart of water. You need 1 quarter for each 100 gr of pasta.

If the water from your sink taste too much of chlorine, you may want to buy a good filtration scheme for your kitchen. It is worth it!

Regarding the salt, you need 10 grams per each quarter of water in the pot. Always salt the cooking water. If salt ought to be annihilated for health reasons, then possibly you will have to stick to rice for the time being. Salt is a must. You need to buy rock sea salt, perchance harvested from the Mediterranean sea.

PASTA SECRET #3: PASTA, BUT ONLY THE RIGHT ONE!

Pasta, of course, ought to need to be made only with 100% Durum Semolina, but that is not enough. The severe pasta lover distinguishes pasta from pasta. Buy only imported Italian pasta, and make sure it is made in Italy (the pasta package could say “Imported from Italy”, but in truth made someplace else). Do not trust big companies like Barilla, that actually make their pasta locally. Their quality is not the same.

Also, do not trust a packaged pasta just because it has an Italian name. Check that the package reads “Made in Italy”. Use the best pasta available. I commend you look for Italian favourites like De Cecco, or Voiello, that you may find at your local grocery store or supermarket. De Cecco is in all probability one of the best pasta you may buy abroad. High-quality pasta has a golden color with a vaguely translucent appearance.

PASTA SECRET #4: COOKING

Once the water is boiling you need to throw the pasta in the pot.

The most primary test for cooking pasta is the cooking time. Usually the cooking time is written by the manufacturer, on the pasta box, but you may have to try

Only add the salt when the water is ebullient, and with that I mean boiling with zest.

After adding the salt, wait for the water to begin boiling again. The salt will have melted wholly in the water. Throw the pasta in the pot, having outstanding care of submerge it altogether all at once, at the center of the pot, where the boiling is stronger. Once it is all submerged, stir it as soon as possible with a wooden fork or spoon. Stir pasta as soon as it is dropped into the boiling water and keep stirring each minute or so.

Never add oil, which will coat the pasta and cause it to repel rather of absorb the sauce. Oil would be necessitated if you are using a low quality pasta, since the for less wheat would make it much requiring little effort for the strands to get glued together.

Let the pasta cook on a lively fire, stirring it each now and then. Be careful of the cooking time: on italian packages it is commonly correct. Better to stop cooking a few seconds sooner than later, since the paste will in any case proceed cooking for a little while after you drain it.

How do you recognise the pasta is cooked? Well, if you do not have a cooking time on the pasta package, just sample a strand of the pasta. Break it, and see if the inside is still whitish. That means the pasta is still not cooked. Once the core the strand has lost it is whiteness, that is the time for draining.

PASTA SECRET #5: DRAINING

Never overcook pasta. Only serve pasta “al dente”, which in a literal sense means “firm to the tooth.” Pasta needs to be cooked so as to be still firm when bitten (but only arid pasta will have to be cooked “al dente” because “fresh” pasta already is soft to begin with.)

Make sure it is as much as possible “al dente” (not soft), because that is the most digestible state. Mushy pasta is not edible anymore, at least for the pasta lover.

Once the pasta is cooked, before draining add a glass of cold water to stop the cooking. Drain the pasta, but make sure you do not drain the pasta too much making it dry. The strands need to be shiny with moisture. Also, you may want to preserve a glassful of the cooking water to add to your sauce. That water will help form a perfective marriage amidst the pasta and the sauce.

Again, never ever drain your pasta too much. If you use a good pasta brand, you do not need to eliminate any exuberant starch, on the contrary, too much rinsing takes away the superb flavour of your pasta. Remember, pasta water is not “dirty water”. It is primary to keep a little to maintain the strand moist. In this way you likewise need less sauce.

PASTA SECRET #6: THE SAUCE

I am not going to talk when it comes to the infinite potpourri of sauces you may prepare for your pasta, but make sure you do not “over-sauce” pasta. Use just sufficient to cover the strands. In any case, the right kind of pasta, when cooked right, is a veritable delight in itself. No sauce is necessitated to savour such a nourishing food. No matter what, serve the pasta piping hot! Never, ever serve lukewarm or cold pasta.

PASTA SECRET #7: PRACTICE!

I did my part. I shared the jealously guarded mysteries handed down in the Bontempi family from generation to generation, since the times Rome was a just rustic village on the Mediterranean sea and pasta was still made of *farro* (spelt flour). Now it is actually up to you. Let me part by saying: Practice, practice, practice! Invite friends over, or treat yourself and your dear ones to a heap of simple, satvic pasta or a great deal of zesty one. Remember, a good pasta lover eat pasta at least 5 times a week.
