high protien, low cal

I love these bars! I have combed the internet and grocery shelves for a bar that is high in protein and yet low in calories. My third requirement was that it be low in refined sugars and not be a candy bar look a like. Surprisingly it was incredible hard to find this. I finely settled on buying a high calorie protein bar that met the other two requirements… but it tasted like chalk and I don’t know how I’ll finish it. Then I came across these bars. They weren’t sold individually with the other protein/snack bars so I didn’t see them at first. They come out to be 2 weight watchers points (by my calculations)or 140 calories, up to 7 grams of protein, 4 grams fiber and only 5 grams of unrefined real sugars (brown rice syrup, ecj, honey etc), plus just plain healthy for you. To top it off, they taste great! Whoo hoo! But not so great that I’ll crave them like a candy bar and blow my diet. I know they aren’t marketed as a diet bar and would be great for anyone, but they sure hit the spot for me. I keep one in my purse at all times to help with my hypoglycemia without blowing my diet.
If they ever go off the market, I think I’ll cry, because I know how hard it would be to find a replacement!

Still a rip off

Can buy these in the store for close to 50 cents/bar. Here it’s 75 cents. No thanks.

Rip-off

Don’t be fooled into thinking you are saving by buying in bulk. Do the math and this comes out to about a buck a bar. In the grocery store you can find them for less than 70 cents a bar.
